Privacy Policy for StockSnap
Last updated: August 19, 2026
StockSnap is a workplace inventory-counting and return-shipment scanning utility. This policy explains what information the app processes, why it is used, and how an authorized user can request access or deletion.
1. Information the app processes
Camera and barcode processing
StockSnap uses the device camera to read printed SKU numbers with on-device optical character recognition and to scan return-shipment AWB barcodes. Camera frames are processed in real time on the device. The app does not intentionally record, retain, or upload photographs or video.
Account information
Authorized users sign in with an email address, username, or mobile number and a password. Credentials are transmitted over HTTPS to the organization's authentication server. The password is not retained by the app. An authentication token and basic account details are kept in app-private device storage to maintain the signed-in session.
Inventory and return-scan data
The app may process and store:
- SKU codes and counted quantities;
- AWB or tracking numbers;
- the selected logistics channel;
- scan timestamps and batch identifiers; and
- Excel or CSV master-list files deliberately selected by the user.
Scan data is stored locally until it is cleared. When an authorized user chooses Push, the AWB, channel, and timestamp records are securely uploaded to the organization's backend. A local Excel export is created and shared only when the user explicitly selects the export or share action.
2. How information is used
Information is used only to:
- authenticate authorized workplace users;
- count and verify inventory;
- identify, categorize, and reconcile return shipments;
- prevent duplicate scans and duplicate batch uploads; and
- produce operational Excel reports requested by the user.
3. Sharing and third parties
StockSnap does not sell personal information and does not use scan data for advertising or third-party profiling. Uploaded operational data is available only to authorized administrators and service operators. Data may be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect the security and integrity of the service.
4. Security
Network requests use HTTPS. Authentication-protected endpoints and access-controlled backend systems are used for uploaded records. Local information is stored within the app's private Android storage. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, but reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are applied.
5. Retention and deletion
- Local scans remain on the device until they are successfully pushed, manually cleared, or removed by uninstalling/clearing the app.
- Uploaded batches are retained for the organization's operational and audit requirements until an authorized deletion request is approved.
- StockSnap does not provide public account registration. Accounts are created and managed by the organization that provides login access.
To request access, correction, or deletion of an account or uploaded batch, contact the organization administrator or support team that issued your StockSnap login. Provide the login identifier and, where applicable, the batch number; do not send your password.
6. Children's privacy
StockSnap is a workplace utility intended for authorized business users. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app's functionality or data practices change. The revised policy will be published at this same URL with an updated effective date.
8. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the organization administrator or development support team that supplied your StockSnap account. This is the designated support channel for users of this internally managed app.
